What can I expect from Balloon Story?
Expect the unexpected upon entering the most colorful and whimsical balloon experience. Over 400,000+ balloons have been used to create larger than life sculptures, immersive installations, with games, food and special surprises onsite!
Transport yourself to an epic balloon jungle, swim through inflatable seascapes, and wander your way through the air-filled maze, thats ah-mazing!
Experience the Balloon Story balloon cage, and family-friendly interactive games for all!
Where is the event located?
The MCEC is located at 5 Convention Centre Pl, South Wharf VIC 3006.
Does the event take place in an indoor or outdoor venue?
The experience takes place indoors at The MCEC.
How long does the show last?
For you to have an estimate, people usually spend 60 to 90 mins at this experience.
Will food and beverage be available on site for purchase?
Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event, but consumption will be restricted to designated areas.
How do I get here?
There's public transport available, or you can drive.
Is there parking available?
Wilson Parking offers flexible rates and secure underground parking at the Exhibition Centre.
It also has accessible parking with lift access up to Door 1, 6 and 10 in the Exhibition Centre.
Additional parking is available at South Wharf Retail car park, Siddeley St car park, Freeway car park, or Montague Street car park.
(You can also find your way to the venue by tram, train, bus, bicycle, taxi, or rideshare.)
Is there Virtual Reality?
This experience does not have virtual reality.
Will there be merchandise for sale?
Yes, there will be merchandise for sale at the event.
ABOUT TICKETS
Can I purchase tickets at the door?
Tickets can be purchased on the door up to 30 minutes after the start of show time. However, tickets may be sold out by the time you arrive at the event, so we highly recommend you book your tickets in advance in order to guarantee your spot. You can purchase tickets via the Fever App (available on Google Play and the Apple App Store) or on the Fever website.
Can I transfer my tickets to another person?
Yes, you can transfer your tickets to anyone for free. It is as easy as clicking "Transfer Tickets" on your ticket in the Fever App. Please contact us if you need additional help. Make sure to include your ticket order number.
Do I need to print my ticket?
You can find your ticket in the "Tickets" section of the Fever app (you can download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play). Please remember to log in with the same login method used to make the purchase. You will also find your QR code in your purchase confirmation email.
I can't find my ticket. What should I do?
You can view your ticket in the Fever app, within the "Tickets" section. If you don't have the app installed, you can download it from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Remember to log in using the same account that you used when buying the tickets. If you still cannot find your ticket, please contact us.
Can I change the date of my ticket? Are refunds allowed?
Subject to availability, changes of date and/or time are permitted up to 48 hours before the start time of your event. If you would like to make the change, please contact us and include the ticket ID associated with your purchase. You can also check if this option is available by consulting your ticket in the "Tickets" section of the Fever App where, if enabled, the "Change date and/or time" button will appear. Follow the steps indicated in the link to change the date and/or time of the ticket. Refunds are not allowed, except as required under Australian Consumer Law. Can I make a group booking?
If you would like to book for a large group, please reach out to groups@feverup.com with your preferred attendance date and the size of your group.
ABOUT ACCESS TO THE EVENT
When should I arrive?
Please arrive during your timeslot (don't worry if you're running a few minutes late, we will try to accommodate you as best as we can, subject to availability).
Can I bring animals? Are service dogs allowed?
Unfortunately, no pets are allowed in this event's location, though we do welcome service animals.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes, the venue is wheelchair accessible. We proudly achieved the Limited Mobility Badge as part of the Accessible Tourism accreditation. This recognises our ongoing commitment to providing inclusive and accessible experiences for all visitors, ensuring that individuals with limited mobility can navigate and enjoy our world-class facilities with ease.

Do you offer carer tickets?
Guests requiring assistance throughout this experience are entitled to one free pass for their personal assistant/support worker. Please contact us here with proof of a companion card. Once we receive this, we will provide you with a voucher that you can use to purchase your free carer ticket in the Fever app (based on availability).
Please keep in mind that you will have to show the regular ticket with this carer ticket when entering the venue.
Is the event accessible for deaf/visually impaired people?
Deaf people will be able to enjoy this experience as it is mostly visual; however, we do not recommend this event for visually impaired people.
Will there be strobe lights?
This event won't include strobe lights.
Can I take photos or record the experience?
Feel free to take photos and share them. When taking photos, please make sure not to disturb other customers. Professional equipment and tripods are not permitted.
Are there chairs available? Can I be seated during the experience/exhibition?
This is a walkthrough experience, but if you need a little rest, you will be able to find some seats for you to have a break.
Will toilet facilities be available on site?
Yes, toilets are available onsite. Please ask venue staff for directions.
Is there a Lost & Found?
All items found or handed into the centre are kept safe and logged by our security team. If you believe you have lost property at the centre, please call 9235 8000, email us at enquiries@mcec.com.au, or head to a Customer Service Desk.
Is cloakroom service available?
Are you looking to store your coat, pram, or luggage? Visit our Customer Service desk at Convention Centre Place, and our friendly staff will happily assist you.
Is there an age requirement?
All ages are welcome to this experience, and the space is accessible for prams/strollers. Prams need to be parked in a designated area at the exhibit entrance. Children under 3 enter for free.
What are the prohibited items at the event?
Smoking is prohibited within the venue. Additionally, the following items are not permitted: weapons, sharp objects, drugs, outside food and beverage, and alcohol.
